C*-Algebra Conference

Monday, May 11, 2015 - 9:00am to Friday, May 15, 2015 - 12:15pm

Classification Of C*-Algebras, Flow Equivalence Of Shift Spaces, And Graph And Leavitt Path Algebras

May 11-15, 2015.

This is an NSF sponsored conference. The principal speaker is Søren Eilers and the other plenary speakers are: Pere Ara, Mike Boyle, Toke Meier Carlsen, Lisa Orloff Clark, Ralf Meyer, and Sarah Reznikoff.

This conference will center around recent advances in the classification of nonsimple C*-algebras, and their applications to symbolic dynamical systems, graph C*-algebras, and Leavitt path algebras (the algebraic siblings of graph C*-algebras). This is a rich subject, displaying a beautiful interplay between operator algebras, K-theory, ring theory, symbolic dynamics, and graph theory.
