Placement Exam Registration

The Freshman Placement Exam is for UL students who have never taken a collegiate mathematics course and who do not satisfy the prerequisites necessary for math 102, math 103/104, math 105, or math 117. If you have an ACT mathematics score of 21 or higher, then you do not need to take this exam. If you have taken a mathematics course at a college or university or through dual enrollment, please contact the math department to determine if you are eligible to take the exam.  This one hour exam covers intermediate algebra.

The Freshman Placement Exam is not for students seeking admission to UL.  Please contact the Office of Admissions for questions regarding your admission status.

The Advance Credit Exam can be used for certain placement purposes or to earn course credit for math 109 and/or math 110. You must have a minimum ACT mathematics score of 26 to take the Advance Credit Exam.  This one and one-half hour exam covers pre-calculus algebra and trigonometry.

International students who have never taken a collegiate mathematics course in the U.S. and do not have an ACT or SAT mathematics score must take the International Placement Exam. This is a two hour exam and covers precalculus algebra and trigonometry.

Remember to visit our placement and credit page for detailed information on course placement.

Please arrive 10 minutes early so that we can begin the exam on time.

Important:  Please make sure that you know your ULID (C12345678) and password.  You will need both to log-in and take the exam.
