Mathematics graduate Björn Guðjónsson honored

Björn Guðjónsson, a mathematics major who graduated in May 2021 with an overall GPA of 3.85, is one of three Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golfers who were recognized as Srixon/Cleveland Golf NCAA Division I All-American Scholars for two consecutive years! The other student golfers so honored are Hudson Dubinski and Hunter Hammett.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40 percent of the team's competitive rounds.

Guðjónsson, who concluded his career in 2021, recorded a 74.17 scoring average in eight events for Louisiana with a pair of top-20 performances. The Mosfellsbaer, Iceland native notched a 73.33 scoring average during the spring portion of the Ragin' Cajuns schedule and finished 13th overall at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
