Joy Mukerjee Receives NIH Career Award

Our alumnus Shubhabrata (Joy) Mukherjee, PhD, a research assistant professor at the University of Washington in Seattle, has received a prestigious NIH Research Career Development Award (K25 award). This is a 5-year (approximately $652,000) award which has training and research components. The purpose of these NIH Mentored Quantitative Research Career Development Awards is to attract to NIH-relevant research those investigators whose quantitative science and engineering research has thus far not been focused primarily on questions of health and disease. These K25 awards support productive professionals with quantitative (e.g., statistics, economics, computer science, physics, chemistry) and engineering backgrounds to integrate their expertise with NIH-relevant research.
