On Friday, 18 October 2024 the College of Sciences hosted approximately 700 high school students at
2024 Lloyd Roeling UL Lafayette Mathematics Conference
Thu, 03/28/2024 - 7:40amOn 15-17 March 2024, the Mathematics Department hosted the 2024 Lloyd Roeling UL Lafayette Mathematics Conference. The topic this year was Algebraic Topology and the conference was supported by NSF grant #2341618 in addition to departmental funds. The conference was a great success and sparked many fruitful interactions between the participants. There were 27 participants, 6 invited talks, 8 contributed talks.
We welcomed participants from Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois, Washington, Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Maryland, California, Mexico, and Australia. Universities represented included Florida State University, Johns Hopkins University, Louisiana State University, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, Tulane University, University of California Berkeley, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), University of Colorado Boulder, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of Melbourne, University of Washington, and Vanderbilt University.
