I am a Romanian fan of mathematics. I did my undergraduate studies in mathematics at the University of Bucharest. I received my PhD from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. My advisor was Kit Chan and my dissertation was called "Hypercyclic Extensions Of Bounded Linear Operators".
I am curious and interested in various methods of teaching that revolve around inquiry based learning. My teaching experience at UL Lafayette includes all Calculus (MATH 250, 270, 301, 302 and their Honors versions) classes, Trigonometry (MATH 110) and Fundamentals of Mathematics (MATH 360). I am also teaching a UNIV100 class that is a "proof course" with no prerequisites. I help organize the Math Club and the Monthly Math Challenge.
I have a few hobbies that are somewhat math related. I played poker semiprofessionally for a year. During this time I created and hosted a TV show (12 episodes) about poker, gambling, probability and statistics. I like writing with fountain pens and I have a small collection of pens. I watch and play League of Legends.
