The Statistical Consulting Center

The Statistical Consulting Center offers statistical consulting to UL Lafayette graduate students and faculty on research involving statistical methods.

Successful research requires planning. Please contact us as early as possible as you plan and conduct your research. We will listen to your needs and work with you to understand the questions and objectives of your study. We will actively participate and help you formulate your problems in terms of statistical questions. Then we will help you solve those problems, and work with you until the solutions are reasonable and understandable. We will discuss with you what can, and cannot, be achieved using modern statistical methods.

Due to time limitations graduate students will receive priority in scheduling. Don't wait until the last minute to contact us, there may be a backlog later in the semester. Schedule your initial consultation now! We will find a time to meet and move forward with our collaboration.

Dr. Whitman has applied statistics and mathematics to a variety of fields including the financial industry, general relativity, and neuroscience. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Princeton University. Dr. Whitman is now using his expertise in applying statistics and mathematics to help advance the research of students and faculty at UL Lafayette as well as in the broader community.

Justin Dunnam

Justin Dunnam, Graduate Assistant

Justin is a Ph.D. student in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics. He previously taught Elementary Statistics, College Algebra, and Mathematics of Finance at UL Lafayette. He earned both his bachelor’s and master's degrees in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics from the University of West Florida. Justin is passionate about helping others learn and apply statistical concepts, and he enjoys guiding students and researchers in discovering how statistics can be a powerful tool for problem-solving.
