Louisiana/Mississippi MAA Section 2026 Meeting

The Mathematics Department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is pleased to host the 2026 meeting of the Louisiana/Mississippi Section of the Mathematical Association of America on 26-28 February 2026.

This year’s meeting will feature an outstanding lineup of speakers, including:

  • Anderson Lecture: Doug Ensley, MAA Director of Competitions Operations, will discuss Building your own mathematical identity
  • MAA Representative Lecture: Richard Cleary, MAA Vice President, will discuss Sports Applications of Mathematics in the Era of Legalized Gambling
  • MAA AWM Lecture: Lauren Keough, Grand Valley State University, will discuss Math Circle Magic for All

In addition, we will have a variety of student activities, including:

  • Integration Bee
  • Student Team Competition
  • Student Paper Competition
  • Student Poster Session
  • Cornhole Competition

Faculty and graduate students are encouraged to submit a Contributed Talk or to nominate a fellow MAA member for the Crawford Teaching Award.
